SimApp for Material Processing Industry

Problem:

Our client develops new products for the mineral processing industry. The product materials must be able to withstand high temperatures. They undergo a complex drying and hardening process during manufacturing, leaving them susceptible to breaking. AltaSim developed a complex multiphysics model of the manufacturing process using COMSOL Multiphysics®. The client’s team of engineers wanted to design a new manufacturing process using AltaSim’s simulations but lacked experience creating and running simulations.

Solution:

AltaSim leveraged the simulations they created for the client and created a simulation application (SimApp) using COMSOL Multiphysics®. This enabled the client to run complex simulations without needing to understand the intricacies of the simulation.

Results:

The engineers responsible for developing new manufacturing methods can test out new concepts quickly in the SimApp without the cost of building and testing physical prototypes. They conduct high-end simulations without being simulation experts.
