To showcase our impact, we have complied a brief case study of a recent project, using a solution that only our simulation experts could provide.
Problem:
AltaSim’s client was developing a new gas reactor. To improve their design, the client’s engineers conducted experiments combined with simulation. But, because the simulations were developed by a graduate student at a university, the simulation development progressed slowly and simulation results did not compare well with the experiments. Our client’s design engineers could not improve the design through experimentation alone and did not trust the simulation results.
Solution:
AltaSim reviewed our client’s previous simulation work and identified areas for improvement. After implementing these changes, the simulation results aligned closely with the experimental data. Our client’s design engineers were finally able to move confidently to the next design phase. To enable our client to run these simulations themselves, AltaSim developed a Simulation Application (SimApp), which provided a simplified user interface for complex multiphysics simulations. This SimApp inspired our client to simulate a wide range of design cases.
Results:
With a $50,000 investment by the client, AltaSim’s team supported our client’s engineering team, enabling them to produce simulations and obtain the accurate simulation results they needed with a simulation tool they could trust. Over four months, AltaSim engineers provided the client’s team with its SimApp, enabling their engineers to move on to the next scale-up phase confidently.
