Over the past two decades, I have attended the COMSOL Conference, presented technical sessions, taught workshops, and participated in panel discussions alongside some of the brightest minds in multiphysics modeling. But this year marks a first for me. Not only is AltaSim Technologies returning as a Platinum Sponsor of this year’s conference in Boston, but I have also been selected to deliver one of the six keynote addresses. As I have dedicated my professional life to this field, I cannot think of a higher honor.
The COMSOL Conference has always been more than a collection of technical talks. It’s the gathering place for our community. It is the one time each year when engineers, scientists, and innovators come together to exchange ideas, share solutions, and spark new collaborations. This year, we have curated a unique set of learning opportunities that promise to excite and inspire you, which you won’t find anywhere else.
My keynote address, “Creating Knowledge with COMSOL Multiphysics” will explore a truth I’ve seen proven over and over: the most impactful simulations aren’t just the result of strong technical skills. They happen when technical expertise is supported by organizational alignment, interdisciplinary collaboration, precise problem framing, and effective communication. I believe this keynote will provide you with the motivation to elevate your simulation work.
While I won’t reveal the full story here, I encourage you to experience it in person, with the energy and insight that only this conference delivers. You will walk away with a deeper understanding of the often-overlooked elements that turn a good model into a decision-driving tool.
And don’t miss the other ways AltaSim is contributing this year. As one of the Platinum Sponsors of the conference, we are deeply invested in its success. Joshua Thomas, will lead the “Best Practices for Developing Multiphysics Couplings” workshop. This hands-on session is packed with strategies for building scalable, accurate, and efficient multiphysics models. Mark Varady, will present his work, “Modeling of Chemical Warfare Agent Decontamination Dynamics of Protective Military Coatings.” During his presentation, you’ll discover how simulation can reveal critical insights into defense, safety, and technology improvement.
If you’re a COMSOL user, or aspire to be, there’s no better place to immerse yourself in the ideas and make connections that will shape the next chapter of your work. You will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with like-minded individuals who are dedicated to utilizing COMSOL Multiphysics to solve a diverse range of problems. While socializing knowledge does not always come naturally to many engineers, it is incredibly important to advance solutions. There will be many activities taking place at the conference, the one opportunity in North America for this tribe of people to gather and interact in a unique setting. It is the perfect time to share what you have learned and hear what others are learning. And of course, we’re always up for a conversation in the hallways, over coffee, or at the evening networking events.
I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing you in Boston this October. Your presence and participation are not just welcomed, but crucial to the success of this conference. Your unique perspective and contributions will make this conference even more enriching and rewarding for all of us.
